Calico Hearts (Adromischus rupicola) is a dwarf succulent that has a clump-forming growth habit. Their thick foliage is waxy and a green-purple color. This plant thrives off bright light and well-draining soil conditions. We recommend placing your plant on a sunny window ledge so they can get at least 6 hours of sunlight a day. If you live in growing zones 9 through 11, you can plant your succulent in your garden, as long as the temperatures where you live never drop below 20 degrees.

How Much Water Does My Calico Hearts Plant Need?
Calico Hearts plants are hypersensitive to overwatering. We recommend using the "soak and dry" method with this succulent. This method requires you to allow the plant's soil to dry out completely before watering. Once all the soil is dry, you should water your plant thoroughly. Soak the soil and allow all excess water to drain out. If your plant is not in a container with drainage holes and a well-draining potting mix, your Calico Hearts will get root rot.
What Kind of Soil Does My Calico Hearts Plant Need?
In order to thrive, your Adromischus maculatus succulent must be in well-draining soil conditions. This plant is susceptible to root rot disease. Any cactus potting mix would be an excellent choice for this succulent. Always allow your plant's soil to dry out completely before watering. You can also add more drainage support by placing rocks at the bottom of the container before putting them in the potting mix.
