Shipping policy
At Garden Goods Direct, we take every step to ensure your plants arrive healthy, safe, and ready to thrive in your garden. Each order is carefully picked, inspected, and packaged by our team before being shipped from our nursery. All orders are shipped via FedEx for reliable, trackable delivery straight to your door.
Free Shipping & Rates
- Free FedEx Ground shipping is available on orders of $99 or more (after coupons, before taxes, and excluding gift cards, shipping protection, and warranty).
- Orders under $99 ship for $24.95.
Delivery & Signatures
- Orders are delivered without a required signature. FedEx will leave packages at your delivery location unless you make alternate arrangements directly with FedEx.
- We do not ship to P.O. Boxes.
Shipping Insurance
For extra peace of mind, we offer optional shipping insurance at checkout. This covers your order in case of:
- Carrier mishandling or damage in transit
- Severe delivery delays that compromise plant health
- Lost or misrouted packages
- Weather-related shipping damage
Not covered: theft after delivery, neglect after arrival, improper planting or care, or claims reported more than 5 days after delivery.
If your insured order is affected, email us with your order number and photos of the issue, and we’ll replace your plants or provide store credit.
Shipping Timeframes
- Orders are typically processed and shipped within 2-3 business days.
- FedEx Ground generally delivers within 1–5 days, depending on your location.
- To protect plant health, orders placed late in the week (Thursday–Sunday) may be held until the following week so your plants don’t sit in a box or warehouse over the weekend.
- In rare cases, we may also delay shipments due to extreme weather. If this happens, you’ll be notified by email.
Requesting a Delayed Shipment
Do you need your order held until a later date? Just leave a note for our team in the checkout comments, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. Additionally, you will receive confirmation of the requested dates in your order confirmation email. If you requested a ship date and do not see it in your order confirmation email, please get in touch with support@gardengoodsdirect.com as soon as possible.
Backorders & Substitutions
If an item in your order is temporarily unavailable due to a quality issue, we’ll notify you by email and offer substitute options. If no substitute is acceptable, we’ll provide an estimated ship date or issue a refund for the backordered item.
Damage During Shipment
Each plant is carefully inspected and securely packaged before being shipped from our nursery. However, transit damage can sometimes occur.
If your plants arrive damaged:
- Contact support@gardengoodsdirect.com immediately (within 5 days).
- Include your order number, photos of the plants, and photos of the packaging.
- Our team will review your case.
- If damage is due to packaging, we’ll replace your plants at no cost.
- If damage is due to carrier mishandling and you purchased shipping insurance, we’ll replace your plants or provide credit.
Risk of Loss
All purchases from www.gardengoodsdirect.com are made in accordance with standard shipping terms and conditions. This means that once an order has been handed over to the carrier, ownership and risk of loss transfer to you, the customer. We strongly encourage adding Shipping Insurance for added protection.

- Plants arrive healthy, fresh, and ready to grow – or we’ll make it right.
- If your plants don’t arrive in excellent condition, simply notify us within 30 days of delivery.
- Send us your order number, photos of the plants and packaging, and a brief description of the issue.
- Once verified, we’ll provide a replacement or store credit, allowing you to reorder with confidence.
