Pieris Cavatine (Pieris japonica) is an evergreen shrub that produces long clusters of white bell-shaped flower buds that are accentuated across the dark green foliage. While the flowers only last from March through April, the green leaves stay bright all year long, even through the winter.
This dwarf shrub only reaches 2 feet tall and wide. For the biggest blooms, plant the Pieris Cavatine in full sun and well-drained soil. If the soil is too alkaline, the leaves of this shrub may turn yellow; it needs acidic soils to remain green and bright. This Pieris also may require yearly fertilizing and consistent weekly watering to remain healthy.
