Dianthus Kahori is long blooming and easily grown in average, well-drained soils in full sun.

About Your Dianthus Kahori

Dianthus Kahori' is a hybrid dianthus that typically grows in an upright rounded mound to 8-12" tall and to 12-18" wide. It is noted for its long summer bloom of fragrant rosy pink flowers. Flowers bloom from late spring to early summer with continued but somewhat sporadic additional bloom to fall. Narrow, linear, gray-green leaves typically form a dense mound of grass-like foliage. Leaves are evergreen in warm winter climates. The common name of pink for plants in the genus Dianthus is in probable reference to the flower petal margins (they appear to have been cut with pinking shears) and not to flower color. 'Kahori' from Japanese means fragrant in obvious reference to the flowers. This is a plant you will love for many years.
