Distyllium Coppertone Shrubs for Sale Online

Distylium Coppertone Shrubs are lovely evergreen shrub that forms a spreading mound in the landscape and offers a refreshing touch of dark green throughout the year. The new foliage has a distinct copper-colored appearance changing to a bluish-green color as they mature. Petite, red flowers appear in the winter through early spring. This adaptable evergreen shrub grows in full sun or part shade and is very tolerant of drought, heat, and wet soil. Distylium is a good alternative for boxwood, cherry laurel, holly, and juniper in foundation plantings or anywhere you want low-maintenance evergreens. Makes a great low-growing privacy hedge.

It is a comparable alternative to other shrubs like junipers, hollies, and boxwood. It has beautiful copper-colored foliage in the early stages but turns a blue-green color in its maturity and in the winter it produces small, maroon-colored flowers. Drought tolerant and does well in full sun. Common names include Winter Evergreen Witch Hazel or Witchhazel.
