Dormancy Notice: This plant, like many others, enters dormancy or semi-dormancy in the late fall through early spring. *THIS PLANT IS NOT DEAD. It is completely healthy but upon receiving the plant, you may notice it exhibits fewer leaves, discoloration, or complete leaf drop. This is normal and essential to the plant's health. In fact, planting during dormancy promotes root growth, giving your plant a better start for spring, when new foliage will begin to grow.

Sparkleberry Winterberry produces bright red berries that appear late summer and remain on the plant well into winter. Typically these berry-laden branches are cut and brought inside for holiday decorations. In the spring, the new foliage emerges a glorious red color changing to green. In the fall, the leaves turn a golden yellow color before ending up a pleasing bronze-red color.

Sparkleberry Hollies must be planted with a male pollinizer such as Southern Gentleman Winterberry. Be careful to purchase the correct male as this late flowering variety requires a late flowering pollinizer. This is a larger Winterberry perfect for cutting as decorations.
