Baby Lace Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum 'Baby Lace'

Baby Lace Japanese Maple Trees are a delicate laceleaf maple tree with very small leaves. The leaves actually get smaller as they age until they are the size of a thumbnail. The leaves emerge orange and red in spring and quickly changing to green for the summer. The fall colors are orange-red to pinkish-red. Perfect tree for small gardens or growing in containers on a deck or patio.

Baby Lace Japanese Maple Trees for Sale Online

Baby Lace Japanese Maple Trees were the first witch's broom discovered on a dissectum-type Japanese Maple. The leaves are small, delicate, and just about as finely dissected as the Red Filigree Lace Japanese Maple Trees only much more irregular in shape.

In spring the color is astounding, with pink, red, and green all mixed together but as the new growth hardens off the color quickly becomes solid light green. Fall color is a nice mix of yellows, oranges, and reds.

Although Baby Lace Japanese Maple Trees are a highly sought-after cultivar, it is hard to find in the trade due to the fact that it is rather slow-growing and can be difficult to propagate.
