Gem Box® Inkberry Holly for Sale Online

Introducing the first true Dwarf Inkberry Holly: the Gem Box® Inkberry Holly. This Inkberry looks more like a boxwood than an Inkberry Holly. Unlike its taller cousins, this Ilex glabra maintains its foliage to the ground, allowing it to be trimmed into mounded shapes and ball-shaped, similar to boxwoods.

The dwarf broadleaf evergreen shrub is perfect for trimming into a small evergreen hedge or growing in containers on the patio or deck. Ideal conditions for these stunning yard specimens include full sun, acidic soils, and well-drained soil.

Boasting small dainty dark green leaves and attractive red tips in the spring, the Gem Box® Ilex glabra is perfect for a wide range of landscaping projects. The shrub is known for maintaining good branching so it never gives a bare-legged appearance like many other cultivars do.

This native alternative to boxwood shrubs grows much faster than boxwoods so hedges will fill in faster too.
