All Natural Ocean Forest Potting Soil for Sale Online
Rich, Nutrient-Dense Blend from the Earth & Sea
This potting mix features a unique combination of aged forest products, sphagnum peat moss, sandy loam, earthworm castings, bat guano, fish emulsion, and crab meal—a “powerhouse blend” designed for robust growth.
The texture is light and aerated, allowing excellent drainage while retaining enough moisture for healthy roots. The blend is pre-balanced and ready to use out of the bag — no additional mixing required.
Optimized for Containers, Houseplants & Rapid Growth
With a pH adjusted to 6.3–6.8, Ocean Forest supports strong nutrient uptake from the outset.
Whether you're starting seedlings, repotting houseplants, or filling garden containers, this mix offers professional-grade performance. It’s especially effective when paired with quality fertilizers, but supports plants well even on its own.
Easy to Use — Straight From the Bag
Fill your container to about 1 inch from the top of the pot, place your plant, water thoroughly, and let the mix settle. There’s no need to add amendments unless desired.
It also works beautifully for top-dressing in existing containers: layer a 3-inch top-dress around established plants and water in for an instant refresh.
Designed for Strong Roots & Vigorous Plants
The high-quality organic amendments help fuel root growth and plant development — earthworm castings for beneficial microbes, guano for nutrient density, and sand/loam for structure and aeration.
Because the mix is lighter than typical heavy soils, roots can breathe and expand, helping plants become healthier and more resilient.

How to Use FoxFarm Ocean Forest Potting Soil
Planting and Care Instructions when using Ocean Forest Potting Soil
How should I plant using Ocean Forest Potting Soil?
First, choose a container with proper drainage. Fill up to about 1 inch below the rim, place your plant at the correct depth, and fill around the root ball with Ocean Forest until level. Press lightly to secure, then water thoroughly to settle the soil. If repotting houseplants, you can move them into this mix directly — no major soil rework needed. For established containers, top dress by adding 3 inches of Ocean Forest around existing plants and gently incorporate it into the top layer
How often should I water plants in Ocean Forest?
Due to its aerated nature, Ocean Forest drains well but still holds moisture — monitor the top inch of soil, and water when it begins to dry. Indoor plants may require less frequent watering, outdoor containers more frequent during warm weather. Ensure excess water drains and avoid letting plants sit in soggy soil. Because this mix is nutrient-rich, avoid overwatering which can leach nutrients or cause root issues.
When should I fertilize plants grown in Ocean Forest?
Because the mix already contains bat guano, fish emulsion, and castings, many plants will thrive initially without additional fertilizer. However, for long-term flowering or heavy feeding plants (vegetables, bloom-heavy containers), consider supplementing with a balanced liquid fertilizer after the first month. Ensure your fertilizer matches the needs of the plant type and follow label instructions.
When and how should I repot using Ocean Forest?
Repot when your plant shows signs of root-bound conditions (roots visible through drainage holes, slowed growth). Choose a container 1–2 sizes up, fill with Ocean Forest, and transplant following the planting guidance above. Avoid packing the soil tightly — keep it light and airy. Water in well and allow plants a week to adjust in a slightly shaded spot before moving to full light.
