White Pansies

When pansies are planted in the fall they can last up to eight months. From September to April or May they will provide colorful flowers for much of that time. Pansies typically don't flower heavily in the dead of winter, but their spring flowers are usually more robust when the plants have been planted since fall.

This holds true for containers as well. Pansies can be put into mixed patio pots with ornamental kale and similar items and will provide colorful blooms throughout winter especially if place under a covered patio. Be sure to occasionally water the pansies in the winter and give them a fertilizer application in the spring once new growth appears.

Pansies are a cool weather flower that are mostly planted in the fall or early spring. They will bloom throuought the fall and spring until the summer heat sets in.Pansies are great for fall color and in the spring they rebloom generally lasting until mothers day in most areas when they are usually replaced with summer annuals such as begonias and marigolds.

Pansies do very well when they are potted in a container. They look great in window planters or hanging baskets. Used as a "filler" plant in mixed containers, they are placed at the edge of planters but allow room for spiller plants. Remember to check your potted pansies soil more frequently for moisture levels. When they are potted, their soil can dry out much faster than those planted in a garden.
