All fertilizers have a formula listed as N-P-K, with different numbers for each letter to specify what type of growth it improves. N or nitrogen is for growth and lush vegetation, while P or phosphorous is for fruiting and flowering, and K or potassium is for overall strength and vigor. American Pride All Purpose Fertilizer is a 9-6-6, so it's balanced and designed to help with every aspect of plant health and vigor. This formula is designed to promote vigorous plant growth, revitalize depleted soil and increase bud development and flower size. As a result, it can be used with both new transplants and established plants. The directions for American Pride All Purpose Fertilizer are simple, just measure and mix with the soil. For new container plants, apply 1 Tablespoon per gallon of soil every 2 to 3 months from early spring to late summer. When transplanting, add an additional 1 Tablespoon with the soil in the bottom of the new container. For new garden beds, apply 1 Tablespoon per gallon of soil every 2 to 3 months during the growing season; work into the soil to a depth of 6 to 8 inches and water thoroughly. For established vegetable gardens, apply 2 cups for every 50 feet of row every 2 to 3 months from spring to late summer. Side dress rows and gently work into top layer of soil. For established plants, trees and shrubs, broadcast 1 Tablespoon for every foot of plant height evenly underneath the canopy every 2 to 3 months from early spring to late summer. Work gently into the top layers of soil and water thoroughly, removing excess fertilizer from the base of the plant. Remember to always adjust fertilization according to the plants response.
