Double Red Peony (Paeonia lactiflora) is an herbaceous perennial with incredible crimson red double blooms that blossom in spring to early summer. The large double blooms sit on top of durable, strong stems and hardy, deer resistant green leaves.
Ideal conditions for the Double Red Peonies include full sun and a well draining soil medium. The red bloomer would also benefit from the application of a slow release fertilizer in the growing seasons of spring and summer. This specific peony cultivar is very laidback and will tolerate acidic, loamy, sandy and clay-based soils!
The garden plant's red flowers are fragrant and massive making them excellent cut flowers! Beyond their use in flower arrangements, the Peony Double Red looks fantastic planted individually or in mass within a landscape.
